Create a Regular Revenue and Profit Stream
with Client Mastermind Groups

with Stephen Tweed, CSP

Stephen TweedIf you have ever gotten together with a group of colleagues to discuss a challenge you faced and get their input and ideas — and then offered your thoughts as they described one of *their* challenges — you know the power of a group in generating value for the participants.

Organizing groups like this in your client industry can have great benefit for those clients ... and for your bottom line.

As a consultant, you don’t have to come up with all the answers, because the clients in the group will do that. As a speaker, you will get to hear clients’ concerns and can then tailor future presentations to address them.

Don’t miss our next program, where an expert in organizing these client groups tells us how we can put this tool to work for them and for us.

Read more about this session at the bottom of this newsletter, then register or pre-order the MP3. Note: Everyone who registers for the teleseminar will get the MP3 recording of the session for free.

Miscellaneous Tips

A sales coordinator puts more money in your pocketWilson Casey

For me, the hardest part of inquiries is asking for money and closing the deal. I now have a sales coordinator. When I get inquiries, I refer them to my coordinator. Not only does it make me look more professional, it gets me more money.

How do you get a coordinator? It can be a friend who’s in another sales field. Simply ask. You may be surprised at how receptive they are. Salespeople are used to handling objections, but more importantly they can tactfully present great value (you). They have a knack for diplomatically closing deals.

Your focus is on the presentation; let them hammer out the money. Most would be glad to do it on a commission basis.

Attract new clients by creating moments that matterVickie Sullivan

A lot of folks connote showing up as stepping out, playing a big role in the spotlight. The good news: Between social and online media, we have plenty of opportunities to sound off.

What I see, though: too much declaration and not enough demonstration. I see a bombardment of information and attitude. I don’t see enough experiences that influence others to decide you’re the go-to resource.

Yes, too many of us are invisible out there. It’s easy to get lost in the shuffle, so why try? What’s more effective is honing HOW you show up. Do that first, then get out there and be consistent. If we hone how we want to be perceived, then we create moments that matter.

(Editors’ note: Vickie conducted two information-packed SNN teleseminars: Make More Money: Position Your Expertise for High-Fee Markets and Getting Big-Fee Speaking Engagements from Sponsors. You can order the recordings.)

Invite potential sponsors to your sessionJeff Davidson

When seeking to land a corporate sponsor (an organization that will pay you to speak to groups in their target market), with the approval of the host meeting planner, invite potential sponsors to your presentation.

If an attendee and exhibitor roster is provided beforehand, call five or six prospects to invite them to your session. It only takes one or two key people attending, to make your efforts pay off.

Audio book recording tipSusan RoAne

Audio books are a growing publishing genre, but they involve more than just reading and recording a book manuscript. Toni Boyle, The Empress of Audio, taught me that verbiage that works for the eye does not necessarily work for the ear. Be sure to have an audio editor/producer before and when you record. You will be so happy with results!

(Editors’ note: Toni shared her audio secrets in her SNN teleseminar, “Use Professional Techniques To Make Your Audio Product A Sound Succe$$.”)

Check to see if your website has been hackedKen Dwight

Your website may have been hacked in a way that is not obvious to you but confidence-shattering to your clients or prospects. To see whether your site has been hacked in this way, use your favorite search engine to search for your name, the name of your business, or your book. In the search results, don’t be surprised if you see frequent references to Viagra. But if you type in your URL directly, everything looks normal.

This is a recent and widespread hack, and it can affect anyone. WordPress sites have been subject to multiple vulnerabilities over the past few years, but this can happen to non-WordPress sites as well. If it’s happened to your site, a competent webmaster can fix it.

Chromebook/Logitech adapter tipTom “Terrific” Krauska

I’ve been using a Logitech R400 remote that I wanted to keep using it on my Chromebook Asus C302. The remote would not work on many of the adapters I bought. The adapter that seems to work is the nonda USB Type C to USB 3.0 Adapter. It also works with my wireless mouse.

Topic of the Month (TOTM) — Your Input Wanted

Our TOTM is: What do you have pre-planned for when the electricity goes out during your presentation?

Send your brief, pithy responses to editor@SpeakerNetNews.com. Please put “Topic of the Month” or “TOTM” in the subject line.

Allen Klein

During my presentation, someone accidentally hit the light switch that turned off all the lights. Before we got them back on, I said, “Now we are going to talk about black humor.”

Another time the fire alarm went off during a presentation. The audience thought it was part of a funny story I was telling. It wasn’t. I didn’t smell smoke but to be safe, I asked the audience to quickly exit the ballroom. When we were cleared to return, I said, “See, I told you humor is a hot topic.”

Create a Regular Revenue and Profit Stream
with Client Mastermind Groups

with Stephen Tweed, CSP

Stephen TweedOne of the big challenges facing all speakers, trainers, consultants and coaches is overcoming the revenue peaks and valleys. When you’re busy speaking, you’re not marketing, and when you have time for marketing you’re not speaking and generating cash flow.

After 30 years in this business, Stephen has developed a proven process for serving clients, generating consistent revenue, and doing work that makes a difference.

You may be part of a mastermind group with other speakers, consultants, or coaches. You meet regularly to share ideas, solve problems, and support one another. You know how this works.

Stephen introduced this concept to the private-pay home care industry in 2012. He currently leads five different CEO Mastermind Groups with 45 companies paying annual dues to participate.

In this session, Stephen will describe in detail how he organized his Home Care CEO Mastermind Groups, how he invites potential members to join, and how he manages the process to earn consistent, predictable cash flow throughout the year. He’ll also describe how he identifies hot topics that members are discussing, and turns those hot topics into additional speeches, seminars, writing, and consulting engagements.

In this program you will learn how to:

  • plan, organize, and facilitate client mastermind groups
  • market your mastermind groups to potential members
  • set up your billing structure to generate consistent six-figure-plus cash flow
  • capture hot topics and industry trends for additional speeches, seminars, writing, and consulting.
