Intensive — Uncommon Model for Speaking as Much Generate High Income by Hosting Retreats and Bootcamps Bootcamps/retreats seem to be the perfect model. But how do you fill them so you’re not committed to a multi-day program with only 2 people? What are the best ways to market them? And how do you price your offering? Should there be ongoing sessions afterwards? What are the best days of the week? Location? Logistics? Our experts will share their best practices for creating high-revenue multi-day off-site programs.
All SNN single-focused intensive packages are detailed here. Miscellaneous Tips Record your next interview by phone — Brian Schwartz Not everyone is able to navigate the recording software used by the majority of podcasters today (yes, even Zoom). Why not make it easy on your subject and just call them by phone the old-school way? This free iPhone app worked like a charm to capture an mp3 recording for an interview I did by phone recently. Going one step further, you can use Descript to automagically transcribe your interview into text you can edit and publish with the audio file. USPS Informed Delivery — Carole Copeland Thomas Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery — a no-cost service offered by the US Post Office. Every day they email you a scan of your mail before it’s delivered. Some clients still mail checks, and this service is vital, especially when you travel and/or your payments are delayed.Trademarking a name — Rebecca Morgan This interesting article by Bill Honaker has implications for speakers.

Travel Tips If renting cars in the Chicago area — Bob Wendover If you drive on part of the IL Tollways system and don’t have an I-Pass, it is impossible to pay tolls using cash. You have to go online afterward, establish an account with a credit card, and pay the tolls within 14 days. BUT after you do, go back into the system and remove the rental car and its license plate from your record. Otherwise, IL Tollways will assign the next renter’s tolls to your account. I discovered this after being automatically charged $18 for tolls two and three weeks after returning the car. To obtain a refund, you have to complete a three-page affidavit and mail it in with documentation. SNN Offer
Topic of the Month (TOTM) — Your Input Wanted This is the last week we’ll post responses to this TOTM: When you’re going on a multi-day trip and there’s no gym at your hotel or close by, what exercise equipment do you take (not just clothes, like runners, yoga pants, or gym shorts)? Our next TOTM is our annual question: “What do you plan to implement to grow your business in 2023?” Send your brief, pithy responses *that are different from those previously mentioned* to editor@SpeakerNetNews.com. Please put “Topic of the Month” or “TOTM” in the subject line. A jump rope for cardio and a list/diagram of yoga poses is helpful when traveling. Stretching and getting off my butt is the name of the game. I download YouTube exercise videos onto my laptop. Even if you don’t have internet available you can exercise while watching the laptop video. Note — you may need YouTube Premium for this feature. SNN Offer
