New reporting requirement for US companiesRebecca Morgan

If you haven’t been notified and your US company is a corporation, LLC, or limited partnership, you must file a report providing specific information regarding the entity’s “beneficial owners,” defined as individuals who own more than 25% of the company or have significant control over it. This includes major stakeholders and individuals with key decision-making roles, such as senior officers or board members.

Existing companies must file by January 1, 2025. File online at boiefiling.fincen.gov. Submission is free.

It took me about 5 minutes. It’s easy. Have a jpg of your passport or driver license handy to upload.


Check your LinkedIn profile for dead linksMary Schaefer

If you’ve linked articles or other media in your LinkedIn profile, check occasionally to ensure the links still work. I’ve found that a site where I’ve guest-posted sometimes reorganizes their site, and the URL for my post has changed. A simple check allows me to correct this on my LinkedIn profile.


Report on my question of best blogging platformsAnn Wylie

These are the responses to my question asking for the best blogging platforms, all were for WordPress.

  • Tom Terrific — Wordpress.com is free and I’ve used it for ten years. I like that I can post on it - it’s sent out to my subscribers and then is also posted automatically on Facebook.
  • Jay Arthur — You can set it up at Wordpress.org or add to your website using Wordpress.com. If you use their site, you don’t have to worry about updating anything.
  • Ellen Finkelstein — I do think that WordPress is the best choice. I gives you the most options and you control it. It might seem complex at first but once it’s set up, it’s very easy to use.
