About the Report

Speaking Successfully: 1001 Tips for Thriving in the Speaking Business is an invaluable resource for those who speak as part of their business. We have organized the best tips from SpeakerNet News compiled from three years of early issues. These are some of the best tips of collected wisdom from speakers around the world.

We hope you will be as pleased as we are with the result.

Speaking Successfully is available as an electronic book (PDF) only; we are no longer selling printed copies. (But you can always print it out!)

   Special Half-Price Sale Price!

We know that many, many of these tips are still current. However, since these tips are from the first 3 years of SpeakerNet News, we know some of the URLs, and especially the Techno-Tips, are obsolete. While we know that 80% of the ideas are still valuable and viable, we are giving you a break on the price since we know not 100% of them are.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you produce this special report?

We know many readers of SpeakerNet News who save the newsletter each week, or who print it out and put it in a notebook, or who cut and paste items they find relevant. We realized that the collected wisdom represented by several years of newsletter contributions is valuable information, if you can find what you're looking for. We wanted to produce a special report that will make it easy for speakers to find the information they need.

(Back to FAQ)

Why should I buy this report when I get tips each week and/or I've been a subscriber for a while?

While editing and organizing Speaking Successfully we were reminded of tips that we hadn't acted on when we first read them. By rereading them, we integrated them into our to do lists and have seen great results. Also, as your career grows, a tip that meant nothing a year ago may be applicable to you now.

We've done a lot of work to sort all of the tips into useful categories and subcategories and even assign indexed keywords to many of them. The finished product is much more useful that the weekly newsletter because all of the ideas on sales and marketing on the Web are together, as well as those on book production, and traveling with a laptop. You can easily review ideas which can be worth thousands of dollars to you.

And some people will consider the price of Speaking Successfully as the price they'd pay for a subscription to SpeakerNet News. Many people have told us they would pay $100/year for a subscription for SpeakerNet News. If it makes you feel better, consider it the price of a subscription and you get the special report as a bonus.

Why are you producing this in electronic book format?

We've learned you can do a lot of things with an "e-book" that you can't with a printed version. The widely-used Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) technology has a number of interesting benefits. For example, you can

  • Carry it on the road with you on your laptop
  • Search the entire text of the e-book by keywords to find what you need in seconds
  • Copy text into another program to create your own "action items" list
  • Keep a Table of Contents visible at all times to move quickly from one section of the report to another
  • Click a page number in the Index to go directly to that page
  • Print the entire e-book, or just the pages that interest you
  • Click on advertisers' Web addresses and go directly to their Web site (if your browser is active)

We think you'll find this format as useful as we do.

To view the electronic book, you'll need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Most current browsers come with it installed already, but if you don't have it, or don't have the latest version, you can download the free software from Adobe.

(Back to FAQ)

How much does the special report cost?

Special Half-Price Sale Price: $25 for the electronic version. (Add $2.06 tax if you live in California.)

(Back to FAQ)

Can I see a sample?

Sure. You can download a sample of the report to see what it looks like before buying it. You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the sample. Most browsers come with the Reader, but if you don't have it you can download it here.

(Back to FAQ)

How do I order?

Easy. Add the report to your shopping cart. After you check out, you will automatically be taken to a page where you can download the report.

Visa, MasterCard, and Amex are accepted.

My first "foot in the door" approach has changed, the graphic design of my handouts has changed, how I use post card mailings has changed -- you get the picture.
