The Program:

As professional presenters, we have to include an element of performance to keep our audiences’ attention. Yet sometimes we go on autopilot during a story or content piece we’ve delivered a bazillion times. So how do we keep it fresh, and be present with our audience and the material?

And how to we bring our truth — or values and philosophies — to our programs? Interjecting personal stories or examples is critical to connect with audiences at a deeper level. How do you ensure the stories/examples showcase your philosophies?

It depends on the outcome you seek. Do you want to merely make a difference, or do you want to make a contribution? If the latter, how do you put your ego aside and focus on sharing what you uniquely can share, and what you think will have the greatest impact?

In this program you will learn:

  • how to “act” yourself with integrity on stage when you are sick, exhausted, or feeling down
  • how to determine what can (and perhaps should) be cut from an already good presentation
  • incorporating your values and truth into all presentations
  • the distinction between making a difference and making a contribution.

Pre-work: Before you listen to this session, we highly recommend you watch Dewitt’s TEDx talk.
